Valentine Chit Chat

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Following is the valentine I made for my husband. ("Love you honey!!) He is the best and such a blessing to me. =)

I wanted to incorporate some mixed media techniques in the card. First I used distress stains to create a background texture on a piece of bristol board. Then I used the Chit Chat stencil and laid down a layer of Gloss Super Heavy Gel. I carefully removed the stencil and pressed the pre-selected hearts and Tim Holtz Chit Chat stickers into place and let it all dry. I didn't want the little pieces in the quote bubbles to get covered over with color when I misted and dripped so after the first layer was dry, I carefully replaced the stencil and applied another thin layer of gel to seal them in. After that final layer of gel dried I could have fun dripping and spritzing to accentuate the edges of the quote bubbles. Don't forget that the Inspiration Journal challenge this month is Show It With Words! Link up your project on the blog and you have a chance to win $50 to spend at Inspiration Emporium. (There are only 12 entries right now, your chances are good!!)

**Shameless plug alert** I also have some exciting news for me! I was chosen as one of 12 finalists for the Sizzix Who Are You? contest. AAAAH! The choice for the final winner is up for a vote! I humbly ask that you check out the contest and vote for me. ;-) Mine is #7, the flower wreath (which you can learn about here). Here is the contest link. Thank you for your consideration!

You can find most of the supplies I used to create this card at Inspiration Emporium. Follow the links below and use my code JUICE to save 10% if you go shopping. Thanks!
